Head of Origination

Mr. Wallace Wang is Managing Director and Head of Origination at Admiralty Harbour Financial Group.
Mr. Wang has over 15 years of experience in investment banking with a focus on Chinese clients.
Prior to Admiralty Harbour, Mr. Wang was a senior China coverage banker at HSBC, where he focused on originating investment banking opportunities in M&A, equity capital markets, debt capital markets and leverage acquisitions for Chinese clients. Prior to that role, Mr. Wang was a Director in HSBC’s Natural Resources Group, where he was responsible for mining sector coverage across Asia-Pacific with a particular focus on Chinese corporates’ outbound M&As and capital markets transactions.
Prior to HSBC, Mr. Wang worked in UBS Investment Bank’s and Macquarie Capital Advisers’ Natural Resources teams, assisting Chinese and other Asian clients in M&A, equity and debt financing.
Notable M&A transactions include Jiangxi Copper’s US$212m participation in First Quantum’s equity offering as part of a US$5bn recapitalisation exercise, Jiangxi Copper’s on-market acquisition of a stake in First Quantum, SDIC’s acquisition of a stake in Arab Potash, Hebei Iron & Steel’s acquisition of Duferco, Shenhua’s acquisition of coal-to-chemical plants, and Yancoal Australia’s merger with Gloucester Coal.
